Top seat at Hitech Grand Prix confirmed!
Back to FIA F3
Liam will race with Hitech Grand Prix for the 2020 FIA F3 season alongside Max Fewtrell (last season with ART Grand Prix) and Norwegian youngster Dennis Hauger. Interestingly, Hauger - like Liam - is an F4 graduate from Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) and also finished 2nd in the ADAC German series. But, unlike Liam, he also contested the Italian F4 championship with VAR as well, and finished 2019 as champion. We are extremely excited to be with Hitech GP for this season. Team Principal, Oliver Oakes, has been trying to get Liam into his team since this time last year.
Toyota Racing Series - Southern wrap
Highland fling!
Notes from the opening round of the championship at Highlands Motorsport Park, Cromwell. * Won on debut in the new Toyota FT-60. After taking the final win for the FT-50 chassis last year (NZ Grand Prix), Liam has recorded the first ever win for the new car. * Still holds the outright lap record, set last year in the FT-50 -1:28.910secs. * Liam set a scintillating lap of 1:27.375 in Qualifying 2 - the fastest TRS FT-60 time recorded at Highlands, but lap records can only be set during a race. * Won the Dorothy Smith Memorial Trophy (feature race) for the second-year running. * Recorded 2 wins and 5th in the reverse grid race from 8th on the grid
Teretonga
Notes from the Round 2 of the championship at Teretonga, Invercargill.
* Won on Spirit of a Nation Cup (feature race). Started P2 and into the lead by the first corner. Lights to flag victory.
* After an accident delayed Qualifying session, with 4-minutes to run, Liam drove from a lowly 13th place to a target 6th in Race 1, meaning at best a pole start for the Reverse Grid race, at worst a grid 3 start. It all depends on the winner of Race 1 drawing a 6 or 8 marble in a draw. 8 it was - 3rd to start and 3rd at the finish.
* At the end of Teretonga, Liam’s series stats from 6 races - 3 wins and 4 podiums. * Set the lap record for the FT-60 at 53.820-seconds.
